01.01.2019.

The Croatian travel adventurist Davor Rostuhar made a fantastic trip to South Pole as a way to fulfill the impossible travel dreams. The travel book Polar dream is just about that. I’ve had an idea to interview him, but with the New year coming I want to step into his idea of following the dreams. Because he does just that and even more all his life.

By his words, coming to the South Pole wouldn’t be possible without the support of his public and specially his family and friends. Even at the last stage, the miracle and the good will of strangers helped him to reach his goal.

If you see no way to realise your dreaming destination, be ready to console yourself and make your travel dreams come true.

Importance of dreaming

Davor Rostuhar’s book „Polar dream“ is all about following our dreams, daring to dream. It starts with planing and awareness to realise our dreams. If any book inspired me to search my dreams, than it’s this one.

Why woud someone go walking alone for 49 days in the middle of nowhere? To experience exquisite peace beyond imagination. To reflect about the life. To be more greatful for what you have. To share the idea of miracles.

Even many of us don’t understand Rostuhar’s idea to go alone at South Pole, it’s not only him that brought him there. It’s the support he gained by the collective funds that enabled him to finance this challenging excursion. Not only, but Rostuhar represents free will that wanted to give up when almost got there. His wife Anđela is his the most faithful advocate.

How to understand the idea of my dream and if it’s not just a fiction? Rostuhar explains in his book with step-by-step guide to follow your dreams.

The Polar dream

At first, I was just curious to see what lies behind the Polar dream, but eagerness that Rostuhar brought before organising everything collecting our thoughts in his mega notebook made me so understandable that’s impossible to ignore him. The fact that such a big destination is included into the little place of Požega made me proud of Croatia, grateful to receive so much contrast at my own field.

During his presentation, while already on South Pole finally reaching the destination the tears fell my eyes. Just a quick phone call to his newly wife Anđela made me realise how distant yet how growing love is. How even for someone going to South Pole the love isn’t avoidable thing. How we all search for it, yet he’s on South Pole calling his wife.

Love around the world- the next project

This is what will exactly be the topic of Rostuhar’s next project and travel with his wife- exploring the love throughout the world in different cultures. Recently I read a book with similar topic with the focus on single life in different cultures. Rostuhar knows how to emphasize the real meaning and he’s enjoying it throughout all his projects: expedition club, photography, wild life, extreme conditions.

Dreams are the most fulfilling experience in life and you should not wait for magic to happen. Dreams will happen if you put them the on the wire. Then the magic will come. Even if they are at the end of the world, don’t stop being encircled with dreams.

About the obstacles

At the end, it’s all the matter of our point of view. Dreaming is the state of mind if we perceive life as a dream. Then our wandelusting soul will look for clouds, shape of hills and everlasting monuments everywhere, even at the nearby park. The obstacles will become just another cloud while reaching our goals. Of course, travelling is not a piece of cake. Many harsh moments will discourage you and put you down. That’s why obstacles are here to teach you and make you richer. Whatever our dreams are, so long waiting moments happen for the reason. Dreams become reality after constantly searching them, after agreeing what it takes to follow them. Obstacles make us blind keeping to forget how clear the goals are. The more we are stuck in one shade or another, the more we will forget how it feels to dream, how it feels make something happen. Are you aware that we are made of dreams? It’s the fuel that makes our vehicle go forward.

Final thoughts

Don’t be afraid to be like a child, to dream. More than that, don’t be afraid to make these dreams happen. Though there are people like Rostuhar that will go extreme, don’t forget what brought you to your most wandered path. Rostuhar didn’t give me the chance to make the last comment at his lecture. I just wanted to say that he made the globe again the flat panel. Through the dreams. With the whiteness around him and no horizont to view Rostuhar brought the completeness of surrender, the equality beyond measure in each dream. With this in mind, I want to wish you all the most pleasant and fulfilling new 2019. full of dreams more and more alive.
