Prague is fabulous, magical, do we agree all? Its colourful streets and cozy feeling is interwined with the creativity that we can find on the windows, shops and certainly the legendary Charles’ Bridge. While wandering around you’ll notice some unusual, even special things. I found it very unique to Prague and named my photo folder All sorts of crazy things in Prague years back.
Mirror maze and kaleidoscop cinema
It’s the hall consisting of eight mirrors that creatte optical illusions. Now it’s permanently closed.
Black light theatre
Black light theatre is characterised by using black light illusion which originated in Asia. In this way the colours get emphasized through black curtains, UV light or fluorescent costumes. The speciality of this theatre is in the communication with the public after each performance where volunteers go to the stage and meet actors alive. Black light theatre is phenomenom of Prague.
Chocolate museum
I couldn’t skip this one though it’s not one of those fabulous museums like Zotter in Graz or Perugina in Perugia, it’s just a sweet little museum where you can learn a lot about chocolate and it’s history. It’s indispensable to get tons of chocolate (haha, not that much) and participate in the workshop to make your own.
Big church clock
Looks fascinating but honestly I don’t know much about it.
Heavenly almonds
Even before coming to Prague I saw cutely decorated package of almonds at the friend’s place, I had no idea that it would come from Prague. I was so pleasantly surprised to discover it while going up to the old town. So unique and fantastic gift idea.
Crafts & Arts
In this regard Prague totally enchanted me. From street vendors and lovely decorated windows to the shops of fantastic choice. Enchanted by the artistic eggs of my friend from Croatia I was even more surprised to see something totally similar in Prague.
Unusual trees at the castle
Do you love observing trees, the art nature created through its shapes? As I was on the budget, I skipped going to the castle inside and continued explore fascinating gardens and its art but the trees caught my eyes. And this duck.
Marina Grosetto
There’s nothing so unusual at this place, looks quite inviting and cozy. River is always a lovely place to observe life. But how did tuscanian town Grosetto come to Prague? Surely it’s an italian owner od this restaurant serving exellent italian dishes. This fact surprised me even more remembering my friends from Grosetto.
The whole shop dedicated to Matrioshka
So many varities of matrioshka, the popular russian doll. Prague indeed has the cosmopolitan feeling.
Dried tomatoes in the sandwich
I never saw dried tomatoes in the sandwich and I didn’t even know you can utilise tomatoes in such a fantastic way. Dried tomatoes in olive oil with spices are now regular summer preparation at our home.
Cute caffe bars like Simply v Kravati i U vesele basy
Charming caffe bars can be fantastic invitation to visit the place. I discovered them through the couchsurfing scene which is pretty strong in Prague. Various events are a splendid way to spend the time if you’re travelling alone. I love karaoke in Prague, my first karaoke.
Toy museum
Not only did I see fantastic shops but the whole museum dedicated to toys. If you’re travelling with kids, have in mind.
The best music club in central Europe
Great excuse for travel, isn’t it? I haven’t been but it surprised me to see.
Tv tower
What makes this tower so unique are the children’s sculptures at the top. It’s called Žižkov Tv tower, now the Tower Park Prague) and it’s equiped with the restaurant, bar, viewpoint and even the garden restaurant. Don’t miss these 10 babies. It’s also specially enlightened by night.
Unusual museums
At certain point I noticed on one column the posters about museums that catch attention like Film Special Effect Museum or Museum of Communism. Even the Sex Machine Museum is here. Prague took new eyes to me as it demonstrates its creativity beyond touristic stuff.
Unusual people
This can happen anywhere but people with purple hair and old rock feeling took an unusual moment.
All in all
Prague is a fascinating place and I hope you can dwell in its picturesque invite and most of all discover the deepest of all unusual things in Prague-
that fairy tale feeling that makes Prague itself.
