The focus is everything. Even the small detail can show the transformative change and power of visual fantasy. Create that moment with 3 elements:
colours, unique message and details.
Nature is all about observing, you cannot cheat on nature as it has its own processes. That’s the most powerful secret, nature comes in its own time. Take the right moment and enjoy. Chasing sunrise or sunset can be so much worth it but also a cautious moment to avoid dark photos.
Take your own inspiration, don’t listen to anyone else. You can be the most wonderful fairy or the frightening night feature. Create a story that is cozy and speaks with colours.
What about the equipment? Ok, it’s true some people use nothing mobile. While I didn’t have any special lenses at my previous camera, zoom can do the magic or setting the photo in the right scene. Even the profile scene for flowers can make them look more serene and photogenic. Actually, the scene can underline the focus. Tripod is like the second camera to my photos making photos stand more on their own capture. Even if only on mobile, details can be found with the blink of eye. It’s all about the story, make objects stand in the support of their perspective, simple rocks they lying on or make sky look absorbing like one drop of water.
If you want to express the story with its perfect characters, consider the compositions and framing. Sometimes your camera can see what your eye doesn’t. Be neat and polite, kindness is the true discovery. This means that softness can make the picture more authentic and alive. Just make the right frame and not the picture that falls from the sky like the bomb. When talking about composition, don’t forget these main rules.
Background is sometimes a problem, specially if it’s messy so focus only on your object. Only the sky colours at sunrise/sunset can create the value.
All in all
Nature can speak the best by itself, that’s why no filter at the photos can make the most amazing sight. As I had long time problem with my Nikon with the batteries that were falling out, suddenly batteries cannot be closed anymore and I can use it only when I press the batteries. Also the photos were sometimes foggy so I’m very glad that this is the opportunity to get the new one.

I often take photos when I’m out and about in nature and absolutely agree with you about letting things take their time. We can all get stuck into thinking we need to capture something quickly and get it seen, shared, etc. I love your tips here — very helpful!

I only use my Samsung for nature photos these days. Mainly because it’s got a really good camera and mainly because if it’s already on my phone I can tweak them in my editing apps if necessary. Thank you for sharing your tips 🙂

I love playing with the sunshine and getting the beams glowing through a picture. But honestly, the best time to take pictures is usually when it is cloudy out. Such great tips.
