07.12.2020.
Exactly two years ago I started my blog with the idea to build a base for my writing and photography, to build portfolio that would make me more than just one usual Gabi. Choosing a travel niche was the way to stream a collection of what was catching my eye just to discover more, so close from home and so far away from home. When I discovered flowery sculptures in Merano, sweet little town in Italy with austrian border I just needed to find similar stuff everywhere I go. Mountaineering became my motivating point, where my batteries were recharged in its natural way.
What are the biggest dreams of blogging?
Independent & nomadic lifestyle– blogging is not just for the case of blogging, you need to have an idea of blogging, something that stands behind blogging.
Pasive income and money making- ok let’ be true, how many of you are starting blogging for the money reasons?
When I read these blog posts with the titles „How to start making money with the blog from the beginning“, always comes the thought that it’s not the solution when the money comes instantly. How many times have I tried affiliate marketing trying to include in my offer the powerful meaning of Hostelworld or Booking. I’ve only got Agoda and World nomads. Even with the exclusive and deeply permeated rich content promoting the course Superstar blogging of one of the most successful bloggers Nomadic Matt I didn’t get any sales. Though still lacks time to apply the advertising methods, I don’t find it the authentic way of signing yourself as blogger. Money for the money reasons is not enough but constant treasure of offer, of making yourself unique giving the public what it needs. Actually, the most effective ways to establish the blogging business from the begining are described here.
Making portfolio which stands behind your name-
Applying the valuable and modern terms like SEO and content marketing, meaning of social media or leading a business is taking you to new skills, to energetic way to cover yourself as profitable. Even more than that, you became a master of the whole panorama called art & marketing. Blogging is not just following your passions but learning to present the passions and market needs.
Blogging gives the chance to balance on multi-level way of life. It’s less about writing, more about business but you’re the Guru of the whole theatre called blogging. Your skills get precised and deepened, you truly come to understand your passions and what leads people to success. Being guided stays on the first place but still you have to learn through mistakes, they’re inevitable.
While talking about making money online, struggle has been really hard. Finally I decided to specify as Pinterest Virtual Assistant as that would give me an opportunity to enjoy making pin images and learn about SEO. I took the expensive course as that would help me build my business and make some real money in the quick future, clients offered through the course became a motivating factor. Few months has passed and after many cold and warm pitches (I chosed the fashion niche) nothing concrete happened, I started to be angry at myself for taking the course. Taking an advice from community’s members to start with betha clients that would give me testimonials took over the ball but at the end I only got one client. After many video pitches I was sincerely disappointed for not getting a job. If you need someone who will turn on your business or improve it, Pinterest is the real thing and I can help you. Please let me know as I’ve noticed a fantastic growth of my betha client in only 3 weeks, also this is something that gives me pleasure of working.
Making connections with different people
Blogging spread my visions as connections with bloggers are inseparable part of the game. Very inspirational readings make you wonder how can someone write such amazing stuff, getting to know bloggers from Croatia is turning out as the beginnings of very fruitful friendships.
Commenting on people’s posts can be tiring sometimes as you don’t really know what would you say particulary after seeing similar writings so many times. Even if I wouldn’t blogging, getting to know these amazing people makes the sufficient reason to start blogging.
Conclusion
Blogging can be such a fulfilling experience though it can take a lot of time which makes you wonder is it worth it if you don’t start earning money. Taking the goals to frame yourself as a writer or photographer or which ever direction you want to take will need to catch its gifts eventually.

It’s so great to see something real about blogging and not another “I made a million in my first 6 months”. I feel like your path is the same as so many others who truly want to live life on their terms and share their passions with others.

Blogging is a journey. I started as a hobby as I have so much idle time. Learning the basics of starting a website and my first published article is a leap. Then i thought of money making, up to now i still have zero earnings from it. But its ok, probably i didn’t do so much work to learn all the ropes. What is important to me is learning and connecting with a network of bloggers from different niches. Getting recognitions and kind feedbacks inspires me. Congratulations and cheers! You have awesome content keep going 😉

I too have just past my 2nd year anniversary and blogging is all that you have described and more. It definitely has been a learning experience and I’m in total agreement that it just isn’t about the love of blogging (which I do in fact), but its also all about marketing, presentation and getting that elusive ‘like trust and value’ factor in in order to get clients. Yes I’ve not made the ‘$$$’ that so many claim to make right off the bat… but my perseverance is paying off and I know 2021 is going to be my breakout year! And it was Facebook Lives that has made the exponential difference, FYI. Thanks for sharing!

I love this. Blogging is A LOT of work, I will never shy away from sharing that with those that are interested in getting started. However, there is also SO much to gain from it. If you’re willing to put the time and effort into achieving your goals, they are all just waiting there for you!

Really interesting post – thanks for sharing your experiences from the last couple of years, and for your honesty on these experiences!
Blogging is certainly not the ‘get rich quick’ scheme that some people will sell it as (usually selling their own courses!). However, it’s definitely a great way to pursue your passions, and if that’s the number one priority then there’s no reason why financial success can’t follow 🙂
Congratulations on the two year anniversary!
Thanks again for sharing!

Congrats on two years blogging! I started my blog nearly four years ago as somewhere to brain dump, but since then it’s grown into something that is now a part-time job, which I still find amazing. We’re all on different journeys and it’s so interesting to read about other bloggers’ reflections.

Congratulations on your two years of blogging. I will soon be nearing a year in some months time and although I haven’t earned from it (not that I’m really trying to) it’s really fun connecting with others and doing something you love.
